Overall Objective
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
✔ Recognise words and simple everyday expressions related to themselves, family, and the contexts in which they live, when spoken clearly and slowly;
✔ Understand familiar names, words, and very simple sentences, such as on notices, posters, or leaflets;
✔ Communicate in a simple way provided that the interlocutor is willing to repeat or paraphrase at a slower pace and help formulate what the sender wants to say;
✔ Ask and answer simple questions on familiar matters or in areas of immediate need;
✔ Use simple phrases and sentences to describe where they live and people they know;
✔ Write a short, simple postcard, for example at holiday or festive time;
✔ Fill in a personal details sheet, e.g. at a hotel, including name, address, and nationality details.
